The Client: Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW)

Philadelphia Gas Works, a municipal organization, engages in the transportation and distribution of natural gas in Philadelphia. The company maintains a distribution system of 6,000 miles of gas mains. As of August 31, 2007, it served approximately 506,000 customers, including residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The company was founded in 1836 and is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Project Description

When PGW sought a partner to provide managed IT services and desktop support in 2006, they turned to mPower Software Services. Today, mPower is providing all Level 2 support and move, add and change for approximately 1,100 desktop and laptop computers, 200 personal printers and 40 network printers company-wide for Philadelphia Gas Works.

Desktop client services include: Hardware Break/Fix (PGW provides the parts). Software Break/Fix, Technology Refresh Install, Moves, Adds and Changes, Desk-side Support. The mPower team also provides the service and support required at the physical location of the desktops or laptops, associated peripherals and other related equipment, maintaning the equipment in good working order.

mPower continues to provide the service and support required to maintain the desktop software and standard operating system environment required to run the the functions and applications associated with the desktop tasks and activities.
